The joy of being a Destination Elopement Planner during this difficult year has meant that it has still been possible for couples to marry abroad if all factors align and depending on their own individual requirements. Eloping with just 2 people reduces the risk substantially and makes travel plans do able!
Whilst I have not planned as many Weddings as usual, it makes Elopements like this even more magical and special and I am so pleased to be able to share Georgie & Brandon’s Wilderness Elopement in Sweden with you today.
I met Georgie & Brandon earlier this year. Originally from New Zealand and Australia, they were working in Italy on a superyacht and travelling across the world. After their first Wedding was postponed due to Coronavirus, they made the decision to Elope somewhere dramatic in Europe. After our first conversation, it was clear this lovely couple were wanting something adventurous and exciting on their Wedding day and so we talked about all their ideas.
An Elopement in Scandinavia was preferred and after exploring Destination Weddings in Norway and Elopements in Finland, we decided on a Lapland Wedding in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Elopements in Lapland are truly spectacular and there are so many beautiful lodges, cabins and properties that I will continue to share on my blog.
Once the decision was made to Elope in Sweden, we worked closely with on the ground luxury tour operator Luxury Action based in Scandinavia to ensure their vision could be created.
Staying in a beautiful log timber cabin on the river bed close to Lulea, a magical and nature inspired Elopement was planned. A Wilderness Wedding really highlights the beauty of the properties grounds, and this fabulous country.
The romantic autumn colours and glistening frost in the morning set the scene for a truly inspiring Swedish Lapland Elopement. Georgie & Brandon said ‘I do’ by the river before some fun activities round their property. Their evening was spent relaxing in their private hot tub, enjoying the fantastic local cuisine before watching out for the Northern Lights via the floor to ceiling windows in their luxury log cabin!
