Martina and Nicolas, a couple from France, contacted me with a special request – they dreamed of getting married in the historic region of Transylvania, Romania. In September 2021, their dream became a reality.

We worked with Matt Bratt Travel, who curated the perfect itinerary for them. Their journey began with a dinner and wine tasting in the charming old town of Brașov on their first day. The following day, they enjoyed a private city tour, discovering Brașov’s gothic spires and medieval gateways. Local legend even claims that the Pied Piper of Hamelin reappeared in Brașov – one of the many intriguing stories hidden among the town’s medieval watchtowers.

Next, they took a cable car up Tampa Mountain, offering spectacular views of Brașov from above. The adventure continued as they made their way to their wedding venue – the stunning Zabola Estate. Nestled in the heart of Transylvanian nature, this estate is surrounded by fresh forest air and breathtaking scenery.

In addition to its luxurious rooms, Zabola Estate offered an array of activities for the couple to enjoy during their stay, including a sauna in the woods, sky dining on a hillside terrace 1,000 meters above sea level, wildlife viewing, nature hikes, horseback riding, and even bear watching!

On their wedding day, Martina and Nicolas exchanged vows at the Pavilion, deep in the forest, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of nature.

After the ceremony, they enjoyed a leisurely walk with their photographer through the estate grounds and a relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride. Their day ended back at the main house for an intimate dining experience in a candlelit dining room,

But the adventure didn’t stop there. After the wedding, Martina and Nicolas ventured further into the Transylvanian countryside, where they were immersed in the rich local culture. This included a stay at Odai din Plai in Fundata, Brașov County, and a visit to Bran Castle—briefly the home of the legendary Count Dracula!

Their journey concluded with a visit to Bucharest, where they visited the imposing Palace of Parliament and Palatul Primăverii, before flying back home to begin their married life together.
