As 2019 twinkles its way towards a close, we’re taking the chance to look back on some of our signature destination and elopement weddings from the last 12 months. We started the year with an intimate Icelandic adventure for Rachael and Jacob and 20 of their closest friends and family, featuring epic scenery and magical moments.
Mr & Mrs A were a real dream to work with and crafting their enchanting adventure was a total pleasure!
Hótel Lækur‘s greetings-card worthy waterfront cottages were the scene of the preparations for the day, with Rachael’s makeup by asthildurmakeup.com and fairytale hair by Birna.
We wrapped up in snow boots and cosy coats and took to the snow in adventurous style, arriving at the ceremony location in 3 of Midgard Adventure’s super jeeps!
The intimate, emotional ceremony was held at the most magical cave on the black beach in Hella (which was white due to the snow!), and the photographs courtesy of Chris & Ruth Photography are dramatic and visually stunning.
Rachael’s beguiling bouquet was crafted by Thordis.
A trip to Skogafoss waterfall after lunch produced yet more fun, beautifully lit moments for the couple and their nearest and dearest.
A captivating day was rounded off with cocktails and a traditional Icelandic Wedding Dinner, featuring a cake by Gina and stationery by The White Emporium and Papier.
The perfect end to a wonderful celebration for a truly beautiful couple. A huge thank you to R&J for allowing us to be a part of your dream wedding. We so enjoyed getting to know Rachael and Jacob and their loved ones during our stay in Iceland; weddings of this size are such a joy as we become so close as a group.
